1. Why should we hire you? Anyone can play music.
A DJ should do more than simply play music. The DJ brings out the personality of the event. He adds to the atmosphere. He must be experienced enough to constantly adjust throughout the event to assure everyone has a good time. Why me? Because of my years of experience. My Quality and Personalized service. My attention to detail. My energy and enthusiasm. My extensive
collection of the best party music of all time. And, my ability to read a crowd.
2. Do you provide a written contract?
Absolutely. I will outline all the entertainment related information that we have agreed on in an easy to read contract. This will protect you the client, as well as me the provider of excellent DJ services.
3.Can we pick out music for our event?
Of course!! You can pick out some or all of your songs. Or, you can leave it up to my years of experience to blend the right selects for your specific event. I actually enjoy getting lists from my clients. (In order to give me the best possible chance of obtaining requests for your event, I'd need to get a final request list from my clients at least 21 days before the event date. I cannot guarantee availability of a song requested too close to an event if I do not currently own it.)
4.Do you do more than play music?
I love to do more. But, only if it's OK with you. In addition to the extensive pre-event planning you will receive...I can, host contests, bring party props/favors,
add trivia games, perform skits, help with raffles, perform all your formalities, and make announcements. I even make sure the champagne is poured before a toast. Some parties don't need all this interaction. Some clients don't want it. But, it's good to know I can provide this for you if needed. Certain additions will have applied charges, please speak with me directly for specifics.
5.Do you take (and play) requests?
Yes and no. Yes, I take requests that are danceable. I keep track of requests and will play them at appropriate times during the event. And no, I won't play anything inappropriate or offending or containing vulgarity. Especially if there are children at the event. I try to play as many requests as possible. But, there are times when there simply is not enough time to play them all. Or, the client may advise me not to play certain songs.
6.Can we come and see you in action at a party of reception?
Unfortunately no. I do not think it is appropriate to invite potential clients to my current clients events. I respect their right to privacy. Since every clients taste are different, you may view an event and think, "this DJ is not my style", when in reality, the DJ may simply be complying with the wishes of that particular client. I have a video thats I'd be happy to share with you during our personalized visit.
7.Are you available for overtime?
I want to keep the fun going for as long as you want. I can work beyond my contracted time if my schedule allows, and if you the client has agreed to this overtime with the function facility. Payment for overtime must be at the start of the overtime in CASH only. No credit cards or checks.
8. Is your price negotiable?
Our pricing is in line with the service we provide as guaranteed professionals. Our average price per person is between $1.90 to $4.60 per person depending on the size, hours and equipment usage for your event. Our cost is a small fraction of what you pay for in food and venue rental, especially for professional entertainment. The price we quote is non-negotiable.
9.Can we (or a guest) give you a CD to play?
For the most part, the answer is yes. I cannot control the content or quality of what might be on a CD given to us. Especially a home-made one. There is also the added chance of possible damage to my equipment by a damaged CD. So, you are welcome to give me the CD to test for quality and content before the event. I do not take CD's during the event.
10.Everything Sounds Great! How Do We Hire You?
It's easy. I will discuss your event and your needs. Agree on a fee. I'll give you an agreement/contract. Simply sign it and return it with your retainer by the date indicated on your agreement/contract. I will notify you upon receipt that your entertainment has now been confirmed. From there, I'll stay in touch with you and help you with the planning process leading to your event. It's that easy.
